Philly Esports to host Super Smash Brothers Ultimate Tournament, February 16!

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate released December 7, 2018; and by now, you’re probably a master brawler with your main. (Mine is Isabelle!) If you’re looking for some new challengers after ruining relationships with your friends and family; then get ready for Philly Esports‘ latest tournament! Philly Esports presents their first Super Smash Brothers Ultimate Tournament on February 16; at Hussain College, from 11:00 a.m-6:00 p.m. The Super Smash Bros tournament is open to fighters of all ages! In order to enter the tournament you must RSVP via their Eventbrite page.

Those participating will pay $5 and if you are spectator, it is free; but you have to RSVP as well.  I.D. is not required but you must bring in your ticket! Also the person on the ticket must be the one playing! If you are not the person on the ticket and you are caught, you will be disqualified! All you need to bring to the tournament is yourself and your skills.

Before you start practicing online for the tournament, there are some important rules.

Game Version: Super Smash Brothers Ultimate on the US Nintendo Switch

Game Settings: 1v1, 3 Stock, 6 Minute Time Limit, No Items, No Stalling, No Pausing, Best out of 3

Stages: Random

Now for what you really want to know: The Prizes. Prizes will be awarded to those in 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place. The first prize winner will be the champion and receive $300!

There will be food and drinks at the event but you are welcome to bring some as well. The tournament will also have free Wi-Fi, so you can post many selfies and go on Instagram live. Cosplay is always encouraged.
