The Franklin Institute is Hosting a ‘Game of Thrones’ Science After Hours, January 22!

“You’re a dragon. Be a dragon.”

It’s no secret that Game of Thrones is one of the biggest shows on television.  The pop culture phenomenon will be airing it’s final season this April. Philly geeks can experience the world of GOT with The Franklin Institute’s latest Science After Hours. The Franklin Institute is hosting, Science After Hours: Winter is Coming. Brace yourself for the fiercest fantasy adventure yet as you step back in time to experience the medieval period in an evening unlike any other. This GOT themed event takes place on January 22 from 7:00-10: 00 p.m. Science After Hours is the museum’s adults-only event, so guests must be 21+ to attend. Tickets are $25 for non-members and $20 for members. You can purchase tickets on the Franklin Institute’s website. 

Winter is Coming, allows GOT fans to become immersed in the medieval world of the show. Guests will be able to meet the earthly inspirations behind the dragons of the silver screen. Test for poisons, and study the properties of blood. Learn how to plan a wedding that doesn’t end in a disaster. Listen to the traditional Balkan sounds of the West Philadelphia Orchestra. Plus, themed trivia, specialty cocktails, and live photo ops throughout the night.

The evening isn’t complete without a voyage through Vikings: Beyond the Legend, the Institute’s marquee special exhibition, included in this mighty edition of Science After Hours. Please Note: Vikings will have limited capacity. Food and drink prohibited in the exhibit.

Guests are also highly encouraged to dress in their Westeros best!
