Run like the Champ at the Rocky Run, November 10!

Philadelphia is the home to many cultural icons; Will Smith, Ben Franklin and Gritty, to name a few. Yet, there is one icon that represents the strength and heart of our city; Rocky Balboa. One of the most iconic scenes in cinema, is Rocky running to the top of the steps of the art museum. Now you can run like the Italian Stallion on November 10, for the Rocky Run! The Rocky Run is a marathon with different levels, starting at the Philadelphia Museum of Art from 6:45a.m.-12:00p.m. The race will take place rain or shine!

The Rocky Run has a 5k, 10 mi and the 13. 1 mi Italian Stallion Challenge (5k + 10 mi). The cost to register depends on which run you are participating in. The 5k is $55*, the 10 mile run is $75* and the Italian Stallion Challenge is $130*. Please be aware, that the prices change depending on the date you register. There is also some additional fees. You also receive a t-shirt with your registration. Runners may run individually or in a team. Registration is done online via the Rocky Run website. The website also has a course map available for download; along with training programs based on your experience as a runner.

Besides getting a medal for running and how you place; there is also some fun awards. The Rocky Run will give an award to the best Rocky inspired costume, best Rocky inspires team costume and an award to the largest team. You have to be present to accept the award; so stick around after your run.

If you want to be a part of the Rocky Run but don’t want to run, then consider volunteering. Volunteers are needed to assist in every aspect of the race, including course marshall, start line and finish line support, aid station support, gear check, packet pick up, water station and more.
