“Thirsty Dice is a Board Game Cafe with over 800 games, that incorporates hospitality and the art of creating experiences into the world of board game play.”
Something new is rolling into Philly to give you a break from modern conveniences. Thirsty Dice is a board game café, having it’s grand opening on October 19, at 4:00 p.m.
Thirsty Dice will have over 800 games in its game library for guests to play. These games include some of your favorites like; Life, Monopoly, Taboo, Catan, Connect 4, Exploding Kittens, Santorini and more. Thirsty Dice will have Gametenders on hand to explain the game’s rules, answer questions, and even make recommendations based on past gaming experiences or the size of the group. This helps to create a fun environment for tabletop gamers of all levels; something that is important to the owner, Matt Hendricks. He hopes to encourage familiar gameplay and encourage guest to try something new.
The board game café features a food program drawing from nostalgic and new Philadelphia favorites. Hendricks teamed up with Chef Rebecca Fox to create this menu. Foxman has curated a menu with familiar foods and flavor with some exotic twists. Guests can enjoy pizza, salads, mac & cheese, bowls, and dips. You can also enjoy local favorites like Herman’s Coffee and Bassets Ice Cream.
For the elevated game nights of adulthood, Thirsty Dice’s bar menu has just the thing. Offerings include boozy adult milkshakes, 16 taps pouring beer and wine by the glass, and intentionally playful cocktails. A favorite is the Shandy-land, a play on a shandy crafted with house-made ginger lemonade.
Be on the lookout for tabletop gaming events at Thirsty Dice in the future; like their Dungeon Master School, happening on November 6 & November 20.
Pass Go and head over to Thirsty Dice on October 19 at 4:00 p.m. for its grand opening. It’s the elevated adult game night you never knew you needed.
