SDCC: ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ Trailer Delights Audience Despite An Unwanted Visit at Hall H

If they could just recast Grindelwald I would be in love with this trailer!

It really is a shame Warner Bros. stuck with their guns to keep Johnny Depp in this movie despite vehement backlash from fans. To top it off, he even made an appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con panel in Hall H like everything was all cool (rumor is that he got booed)! With how vile he is as a human and a character, I’m beginning to think he’s worse than Voldemort.

But let’s get back on track to the panel and trailer. Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Zoe Kravitz, Jude Law, Claudia Kim, and Callum Turner cast a spell on the audience before showing off the trailer which had a surprise appearance from Nicolas Flamel who is extremely creepy.

We get a glimpse of young Newt being taught by hot Dumbledore, forging their friendship and the beginning of Dumbledore using someone else to do the job. Sorry, Harry, you weren’t the first boy Dumbledore played with. Newt goes to Paris because I’m assuming that’s where Grindelwald is starting to gather followers for his plan of pure blood wizards ruling the muggles. And most likely one of Grindelwald’s followers is Leta Lestrange who makes the interesting comment that Newt is the only person that could fall in love with any monster. Leta seems to be warning Newt she’s a bad person. Interesting. Credence is blowing things up again. No clue why other than he still looks angry and his hair is still horrible. But most importantly Jacob Kowalski is back to prove that some muggles are brave without magical abilities.

Are you feeling just as torn by this movie as I am?
