Patty Jenkins and Chris Pine Team Up to tell the True Story of Fauna Hodel in TNT’s ‘I Am the Night’

Oh, Patty Jenkins, what have you brought upon us?

Seriously, I Am the Night looks like I’ll be biting my nails in suspense through every episode. Based on the true story of Fauna Hodel (played by India Eisley), a young woman discovers she’s adopted and decides to go looking for the truth of her past. But it turns out that truth should probably remain buried in the dark. Especially when she has ties to the infamous “Black Dahlia” murder.

Chris Pine joins his Wonder Woman director in this series as Jay Singletary, a reporter who used to be a marine. He takes a keen interest in the case after receiving a tantalizing call.

Here is the official synopsis:

Inspired by true events, I Am the Night tells the incredible story of Fauna Hodel (India Eisley) who was given away at birth. As Fauna begins to investigate the unbelievable secrets to her past, she meets a ruined reporter (Chris Pine), haunted by the case that undid him.  Together they both follow a sinister trail that swirls ever closer to an infamous Hollywood gynecologist, Dr. George Hodel, a man involved in some of Hollywood’s darkest debauchery and possibly it’s most infamous unsolved crime.

I’m currently debating researching Fauna Hodel to learn more about this story since my interest has been peaked or wait until the series premieres on TNT this January. Decisions, decisions.

I Am the Night will premiere January 2019 on TNT and will be six episodes.
