“Some Scars Never Heal…”

Peter Jackson is ready to give the world his next epic adventure story with the December release of Mortal Engines which is based off the award-winning book series by Philip Reeve. This week we finally get the first look at Jackson’s highly anticipated return to the silver screen when Universal Pictures dropped the first trailer and poster for the film!

Check them both out below…

Well, I am picking up what this film is putting down! The film seems to mix the best parts of all dystopian and high fantasy has had to offer within the past couple years in terms of books and films. Though I do fear there may be a John Carter effect, meaning that people hitting the theater to see the film will see similarities to films and books that have been released more recently. If one were to actually educate one’s self you would know that Mortal Engines was published in 2001 and is an OG!

Now let’s get official:

Thousands of years after civilization was destroyed by a cataclysmic event, humankind has adapted and a new way of living has evolved.  Gigantic moving cities now roam the Earth, ruthlessly preying upon smaller traction towns.  Tom Natsworthy (Robert Sheehan)—who hails from a Lower Tier of the great traction city of London—finds himself fighting for his own survival after he encounters the dangerous fugitive Hester Shaw (Hera Hilmar). Two opposites, whose paths should never have crossed, forge an unlikely alliance that is destined to change the course of the future.

And now let’s get real official with a Robert Sheehan appreciation moment:

Please let this green (or are they hazel?) eyed beauty be cast in more things!

So will you be seeing Mortal Engines?

Mortal Engines hits theaters this December!
