Celebrate the Women of the ‘Star Wars’ Galaxy With This Stunning New Book!

A book about awesome ladies from the Star Wars universe? And it’s written by Amy Ratcliffe and has artwork from female and non-binary artists? This is amazing and I need it in my hands right now. But sadly I have to wait until October 2018.

Star Wars.com announced the unique upcoming book today. Ratcliffe chronicles 75 female characters from the Star Wars universe such as Leia Organa, Rey, Jyn Erso, Rose Tico, Ahsoka Tano, Maz Kanata, and more. The women range from heroes to villains, renegades and rogues, the caring, and the scum. A handful of these characters are probably on your list of favorite female characters from pop culture.

To accompany the entries, 18 talented artists reenvisioned the characters for the book. Alice X. Zhang, Amy Beth Christenson, Annie Stoll, Annie Wu, Christina Chung, Cryssy Cheung, Eli Baum, Elsa Charretier, Geneva B., Jen Aberin Johnson, Jen Bartel, Jenny Parks, Karen Hallion, Little Corvus, Sara Alfageeh, Sara Kipin, Sarah Wilkinson, and Viviane Tanner. Check out the stunning book cover done by Jen Bartel!

I’m sorry, I was just drooling.

Michael Siglain, creative director of Lucasfilm Publishing had this to say about the book.

“Chronicle Books has put together an all-star line-up of amazingly talented and diverse artists to bring some of the most important, iconic, and, at times, lesser-known characters from the entire Star Wars saga to life as we’ve never seen them before…Everyone involved, from Chronicle to Lucasfilm, is extremely proud of this title, and of its extremely talented creative team. Amy Ratcliff’s insightful commentary combined with the beautiful, haunting, truly awe-inspiring art makes Women of the Galaxy a must-have for fans of the saga and for art collectors everywhere.”

I might need to buy two copies of this book. One to read and one so I can frame all of the art in it.
